We are pleased that many of our extended USS Indianapolis family will be joining us this year; including our guests of honor, the USS Indianapolis Survivors and their immediate families, the families of our Lost-at-Sea crewmen, families of USS Indianapolis Survivors who are no longer with us, Former Crew and their families, Rescue and Recovery crewmen and their families, the crewman and families of the submarine USS Indianapolis SSN-697, the special friends and volunteers who have supported the Survivors Organization over the past 58 years, as well as our newest family members, the crewmen and families of the USS Indianapolis LCS-17.

Please join us for a wonderful reunion and memorial service to honor the men of the USS Indianapolis CA-35, Still at Sea.

Room reservations at the Hyatt can be made immediately by calling the number listed above. Please let them know you are with the USS Indianapolis Reunion for a reduced rate (there are a limited number of rooms available at this rate).  If you are a Survivor making reservations and reduced rate rooms are sold out, please contact Peggy Campo at pcampo4@yahoo.com, or call (217) 377-9783, and arrangements will be made to get you the lower rate.

THURSDAY, JULY 18

6:00 p.m.               Welcoming Night, Chairman Harold Bray Presiding

7:00 p.m.               Reunion Information & Presentation.

 

FRIDAY, JULY 19

7:00 a.m.                 Coffee & Conversation – Bring your coffee & meet fellow early birds for a casual get
                                 together & get to know you.

8:00 a.m.                Merchandise Store & Historical Exhibits Open

                                Registration materials available for pick-up

8:00 a.m.                USS Indianapolis: The Legacy Documentary
                                will play continuously until 3:00 p.m.

9:30 a.m.                Guest Speaker, Desmond Doss, Jr.
                                Desmond Doss, Jr. shares the story of his father, the Hacksaw Ridge war hero who didn't                                  believe in using guns.  He was a conscientious objector who ended up saving 75 of his                                        fellow soldiers and was ultimately awarded the Medal of Honor.

11:45 a.m.              Luncheon hosted by the Columbia Club of Indianapolis. 

                                THE COLUMBIA CLUB LUNCHEON IS FOR SURVIVORS AND THEIR INVITED GUESTS

11:30 - 4:00 p.m.    INDIANA WAR MEMORIAL SPECIAL EVENT
                               Reunion attendees are invited to attend a luncheon and Open House honoring the USS                                       Indianapolis crew families. The event will include a luncheon, special tours of the Indiana                                   War Memorial's USS Indianapolis exhibits, and a presentation of the PBS documentary                                       USS Indianapolis: The Final Chapter. Details coming soon!

3:00 p.m.                Survivors Business Meeting – (Survivors & Officers Only)

3:00 p.m.                Indianapolis Crew Flag Ceremony at the Canal (transportation not provided).

5:00 p.m.                Dinner on your own with family and friends.

6:00 - 7:00 p.m.     BOOK SIGNING
                                USS Indianapolis Survivors, for their book, Only 317 Survived
                                Authors Vincent & Vladic, for the NY Times Best Seller, INDIANAPOLIS
                                & Kim Roller, for American Spirit.

7:00 – 8:30 p.m.     USS Indianapolis Survivor Edgar Harrell Speaks
                                followed by a book signing of Ed’s Book, Out of the Depths.

 

SATURDAY, JULY 20

7:00 a.m.                 Coffee & Conversation – Bring your coffee & meet fellow early birds for a casual get
                                 together & get to know you.

8:00 a.m.                Merchandise Store & Historical Exhibits Open.

                                Registration materials available for pick-up.

9:00 a.m.                MEMORIAL SERVICE - honoring the final sailing crew of the USS Indianapolis.

                                Preferred seating will be offered to reunion guests before the public is seated. 

11:30 a.m.              Lunch for Survivors, spouses, and caregivers

1:00 p.m.                 Educational Programming

                                 Presentation - “Only 316 Survived” e-book with Lynn Vincent & Sara Vladic
                                 Underwater Archaeology with Blair Atcheson, Naval History & Heritage Command

2:00 – 3:00 p.m.     USS Indianapolis CA-35 Legacy Organization Meeting.

5:45 p.m.                Seating for USS Indianapolis Survivors Organization Banquet

SUNDAY, JULY 21

9:00 a.m.                 Prayer Service. 

9:30 a.m.                 Group Gathering – hang out, say goodbye.

12:00 p.m.               Traditional Wreath & Rose Ceremony for survivors and lost at sea families.
                                 Open to the public, at the Indianapolis Monument (transportation not provided).
